Reliability Engineer

Air Niugini is the national flag carrier of Papua New Guinea providing air services within PNG and abroad throughout Asia and Oceania.  It operates a fleet of aircraft consisting of Boeing 767, Boeing 737, Fokker 100, Fokker 70, Q400 and DHC-8 aircrafts and employing over 2000 staff.

As part of Air Niugini’s continuous commitment to having a well-trained and effective Team to ensure its Operational Safety and Service excellence we now have immediate vacancies to be filled for the following positions within our Engineering Technical Services:

Reporting to the Manager Technical Services the Reliability Engineer is responsible in providing technical guidance services in regard to the Fleet Reliability Programme.

Specific  Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and analysing aircraft and component data
  • Providing support to the company’s reliability programs
  • Development and improvement of existing reliability programs
  • Overall handling and analysis of Dispatch, PIREPS, unscheduled removal of components and engine condition monitoring program
  • Coordination and liaison with Air Niugini departments such as Aircraft Maintenance, Technical Services, Purchasing & Supply and Flight Operations in relation to reliability.
  • Supervision of Reliability group within Maintenance Control Department
  • Timely generation of Reliability statutory and management reports

Qualifications:

  • Should have a degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in reliability related work with an airline or MRO  is desirable
  • Must be conversant with common IT applications including word processing, excel, powerpoint and others.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must be conversant with latest reliability techniques and able to perform reliability analysis on systems and components and to provide suitable recommendations.
  • Experience on reliability analysis on any of the following aircraft would be an advantage:  Dash-8-200/-300/-400, Fokker 70/100, Boeing 737 and 767.
