Air Niugini is the national flag carrier of Papua New Guinea providing air services within PNG and abroad throughout Asia and Oceania. It operates a fleet of aircraft consisting of Boeing 767, Boeing 737, Fokker 100, Fokker 70, Q400 and DHC-8 aircrafts and employing over 2000 staff.
As part of Air Niugini’s continuous commitment to having a well-trained and effective Team to ensure its Operational Safety and Service excellence we now have immediate vacancies to be filled for the following positions within our Engineering Technical Services:
Reporting to the Manager Technical Services, the Configuration Engineer is responsible for providing technical guidance services in regard to the Fleet configuration.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure all rotable components are recorded and set-up correctly within the Maintenance Information System (MIS) to support the fleet
- Work with maintenance records to confirm the accuracy of data imported into the MIS
- Ensure aircraft component configurations of existing, entry-into-service and new aircraft are effectively controlled and set-up
- Set-up part requirements (eg. life limits), part interchangeability and alternative parts, and also support warranty claims
- Timely generation of configuration statutory and management reports
To be considered you should possess the following:
- Should have a degree
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in configuration related work with an airline or MRO is desirable
- Must be conversant with common IT applications including word processing, excel, powerpoint and others.
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience on similar aircraft to the following would be an advantage: Dash-8-200/-300/-400, Fokker 70/100, Boeing 737 and 767.
