RATIONING OF JET FUEL AFFECTS DOMESTIC FLIGHTS

Air Niugini regrets to inform our valued customers that jet fuel rationing by Puma Energy in Port Moresby continues to cause disruptions to our domestic flights. Unfortunately, this rationing of aviation fuel has now been extended to other airports such as Lae and Mt Hagen, whilst supply at certain other airports has ceased altogether. This has resulted in Air Niugini reducing further its current domestic schedule, causing flight disruptions and inconvenience for our customers.

AIR NIUGINI RABAUL FLIGHTS

Air Niugini wishes to advise the traveling public that our flights to and from Rabaul have been further downgraded from Q400 aircraft to Dash 8 due to the continuous runway repair works at Tokua airport, Rabaul.The National Airports Corporation (NAC) has reduced the operating runway length to allow for critical repairs. And to ensure safe operations, Air Niugini is restricted to limited Dash 8 operations.

AIR NIUGINI’S BOEING 767 AIRCRAFT RESUME SINGAPORE AND BRISBANE FLIGHTS

Air Niugini’s Boeing 767 aircraft have now resumed operations on the airline’s Brisbane and Singapore flights following the completion of scheduled heavy maintenance checks. Over the past six months both our 767 aircraft underwent scheduled C-check maintenance, starting with P2-PXV which returned to service in January, and followed by P2-PXW which returned to service on 20th April. The maintenance included a complete refurbishment of the passenger cabins and lavatories.

AIR NIUGINI TO SUSPEND WEEKLY PALAU FLIGHTS

AIR NIUGINI RESUMES FLIGHTS TO CAIRNS

Air Niugini wishes to advise our valued customers that the airline has resumed flights to Cairns airport, Australia since yesterday, Tuesday 19th December. Flight PX 98 departed Port Moresby for Cairns yesterday afternoon and returned last night with passengers disrupted from the previous flights.  This is followed by normal scheduled operations today.

FLIGHT DISRUPTIONS TO MT HAGEN DUE TO UNSERVICEABLE FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT

Air Niugini’s flight to Kagamuga airport, Mt Hagen this morning (PX 180) and  those from yesterday afternoon, PX 186 and PX 188 were disrupted due to unserviceable vehicles responsible for Rescue Fire Fighting Services(RFF). It’s mandatory for the airport authority to ensure these services are available and operational prior to airlines operating into the area, in the unlikely event of an emergency.

AIR NIUGINI DOWNGRADE TOKUA FLIGHTS

Air Niugini wishes to advise our valued customers that all our flights to Tokua airport, Rabaul East New Britain have been downgraded to Dash 8 operations due to poor runway conditions. National Airports Corporation(NAC) has issued a Notice to Airmen(NOTAM) to cease jet operations, effective today Tuesday 23rd May while the runway issue is being addressed. Air Niugini will advise when jet operations resume once we get feedback from NAC on the runway works. We regret the inconvenience caused, however the situation is beyond the airline’s control. AIR NIUGINI SUSPENDS TUFI FLIGHTS

Air Niugini has suspended all flights to Tufi airport, Oro Province following a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by PNG Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), closing the airport to aircraft which have more than 20 seats. The suspension comes into effect this morning, Friday 03rd February and will continue until further notice. Air Niugini has been operating twice weekly to Tufi, every Monday and Friday. We regret the inconvenience caused however, the situation is beyond the airline�s control. Safety is always of paramount importance in our operations.

AIR NIUGINI COMMENCES WEEKLY FLIGHTS TO PALAU

Air Niugini will commence weekly services connecting Australia, Papua New Guinea and Palau effective 28th February 2023. Air Niugini, in partnership with the Australian government will service this route under the Australian government�s Pacific Flight Programme which underwrites flights during the initial establishment phase. The programme has supported over 450 flights in the Pacific since December 2020 and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic across 14 routes and 11 countries. This has helped keep Pacific communities connected, maintain supply chains and deliver critical medicines. The programme removes airlines� commercial risk operating an agreed flight, assuring regular and scheduled flights for passengers and cargo.

The decision to suspend flights follows the vandalization of the airport runway last night, which has resulted in NAC closing the airport and poses an unacceptable safety risk to the travelling public, our staff, aircraft, and property. Air Niugini Flights To Cairns,Australia

Air Niugini is pleased to advise customers that the Australian Government embargo on passengers travelling on direct flights from Papua New Guinea to Cairns has been lifted effective from 31st March 2022.Effective from 01st April 2022 Air Niugini offers three flights a week between Port Moresby and Cairns. Flight PX098 departs Port Moresby at 1700 on Fridays, Sundays, and Wednesdays, arriving in Cairns at 1825. Return flights PX091 depart Cairns at 0700 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving Port Moresby at 0825.

Air Niugini is pleased to advise that the Pandemic Controller has approved the resumption of inflight catering on international flights from 1st March.

Air Niugini apologises for a number of flights in recent days which have been disrupted due to a much higher number of crew than usual falling sick, as well as the current wet weather conditions across the country impacting on the airline�s operations.

International Travel: Vaccination Requirements – Flights Departing PNG

All passengers departing internationally from PNG are reminded that they must show evidence at check-in that they are fully vaccinated. For passengers who have been vaccinated in PNG, they must produce the yellow International Vaccination Certificate (which is issued by PNG National Department of Health).� The green domestic vaccination certificate is not sufficient. �For passengers who were vaccinated overseas this will be the vaccination certificate issued in the country they were vaccinated in. The only exceptions are where; the passenger can provide evidence of a medical exemption in a form acceptable to their destination �country,� and for any countries of transit. This will normally be signed by a medical practitioner; or children under the age of 18 (which is presently the minimum age for vaccinations in PNG) and the child is approved to travel to their destination (and for any countries of transit) unvaccinated .

Air Niugini Flights To Lae And Kavieng

Further to previous updates, the National Airports Corporation (NAC) has advised that the completion of runway works at Lae (Nadzab) and Kavieng airports have been delayed into 2022. Kavieng is now expected to return to Fokker jet operations around the third week of January (instead of this month), whilst jet services to Nadzab are expected to resume in April 2022 (instead of January).

Air Niugini is pleased to advise customers that due to high demand for Sydney flights, the airline will be operating three special flights from Port Moresby to Sydney and back, using the Boeing 767 aircraft.The flights, PX 4001/4002 will operate every Sunday, commencing on 28th November, followed by 05th and 12th December. These flights depart Port Moresby at 07:00am and arrive in Sydney at 11:55am with the return services departing Sydney at 12:55pm and arriving back in POM at 3:55pm.

Air Niugini Suspends Flights To Kieta

Due to the closure of Aropa airport by the AROB Government, Air Niugini flights to Kieta are suspended until further notice. Passengers holding tickets to or from Kieta may travel to or from Buka instead at no additional cost, or can rebook their travel to Kieta for future dates without penalties.

Air Niugini resume flights from Cairns to Port Moresby

Air Niugini CEO, Mr. Bruce Alabaster announced today(Tuesday 28th September, 2021) that the airline will operate four special Boeing 767 widebody jet flights from Cairns to Port Moresby between now and Christmas.Flight PX 093 will operate on Wednesday�s 06th October, 03rd and 24th November, and on 22nd December 2021. These flights are mainly scheduled to carry freight for exporters in Far North Queensland up to Asia.�� This will include fresh produce and fish from Cairns onto both Hong Kong and Singapore, but are also available for passenger booking from Cairns to Port Moresby.

Air Niugini would like to advise customers that due to the current outbreak of COVID-19 in New South Wales, Australia, the Australian Government has placed further restrictions on the number of passengers on board all aircraft arriving into Sydney.

Further to our last update on 6th July advising of the temporary suspension of Air Niugini flights to Madang from 23rd July, the National Airports Corporation (NAC) has advised that the next stage of the runway upgrading works has been delayed by three days and will now commence at 0600am on Monday 26th July.

RESUMPTION OF LINK PNG FLIGHTS TO WAPENAMANDA

Air Niugini would like to advise customers that the Australian Government has extended the suspension of international arrivals into Cairns until at least the 30th June. This is in order to manage the risk of arriving passengers subsequently testing positive for COVID-19 during their stay in quarantine facilities. For the period 19th - 30th June flights from PNG to Cairns have therefore had to be cancelled. AIR NIUGINI UPGRADES MANUS ISLAND FLIGHTS TO LARGER BOEING 737 AIRCRAFT

Air Niugini is upgrading selected flights to Momote Airport, Manus Island, to larger Boeing 737 aircraft from early next month, following recent upgrading and restoration work on the runway carried out by National Airports Corporation (NAC). The Boeing 737 service will touch down in Manus Island at 1035am on Easter Saturday 03rd April. Thereafter the B737 aircraft will become a regular sight at Momote Airport, with non-stop services from and to Port Moresby operating every Saturday.

Air Niugini Upgrades Gurney Flights To Larger Boeing 737 Aircraft

Air Niugini is upgrading selected flights to Gurney Airport, Alotau, Milne Bay Province to larger Boeing 737 aircraft. The first ever Boeing 737 service will touch down in Gurney at 1120am on Friday 26th February, 2021. Thereafter the B737 aircraft will become a regular sight at Gurney Airport, with three weekly services from 28th March, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Fokker jet aircraft will continue to service Alotau on all other days of the week. Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bruce Alabaster said that by using the B737 to Alotau this will allow the Fokker jet aircraft that currently service the route to be used to increase capacity elsewhere.

Air Niugini Flights To Hoskins Airport

Air Niugini will recommence flights to and from Hoskins airport, West New Britain from tomorrow until Monday 11th January. Flights between January 5th and 11th are for passengers already holding tickets. There are no restrictions on passengers travelling into Hoskins during this period. Per advice from the National Control Centre, passengers departing Hoskins will be required to undertake a rapid COVID test at the airport prior to the flight.� This takes 20-25 minutes for the result, so passengers are requested to arrive early.�

Air Niugini Flights To Rabaul / Tokua

Air Niugini would like to inform the travelling public that the runway length at Tokua Airport, Rabaul has been temporarily shortened by the National Airports Corporation (NAC) to allow for urgent runway maintenance works. These runway works are expected to last approximately two months, depending on weather conditions. As a result of the above, all Air Niugini flights to and from Tokua are rescheduled onto smaller Dash-8 aircraft, operated by our subsidiary company Link PNG. The shortening of the runway means that payloads are heavily restricted, even for Dash-8 aircraft, and as far as possible the number of services into Tokua each day has been increased in order to partially address this reduction in available capacity.

Air Niugini Operates Charter Flight To Repatriate Citizens In Time For Christmas

Air Niugini will be operating a charter flight on 09th December between Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Fiji to repatriate citizens back home to their respective countries in time for Christmas. The charter flight, PX 9084 will be operated by Air Niugini�s Boeing 737- 700 series aircraft, departing Port Moresby at 6am for Honiara, Solomon Islands. It arrives in Honiara at 09:20am before departing for Fiji at 10am. The flight from Honiara to Nadi will take 3hours, arriving at 2pm(local time). The return service, PX 9085 departs Nadi airport at 3pm and arrives in Port Moresby at 7pm via Honiara.

Resumption Of LinkPNG Flights To Tari

Link PNG, a subsidiary of Air Niugini wishes to advise the general public that the airline will resume flights to Tari, Southern Highlands, commencing next Monday 21st September 2020. Link PNG suspended services to Tari in July 2019 to allow for the commencement of major upgrade works to the runway by National Airports Corporation (NAC). Air Niugini further expanded domestic flights and capacity from Friday 17th July as there is continuous increase in demand following the April lock down. Resumption Of LinkPNG Flights To Tabubil

Link PNG, a subsidiary of Air Niugini wishes to advise the general public that the airline will be resuming flights to Tabubil, commencing this Friday 26th June 2020. The decision to resume flights was made following the latest State of Emergency(SOE) directives and the relaxing of restrictions by the airport operator. Flights to Tabubil were closed since April this year due to the COVID19 pandemic.

Air Niugini is pleased to advise the traveling public that we are resuming flights to Buka commencing on Friday 22nd May, 2020. The interim schedule will consist of one (1) flight operating on a fortnightly basis as approved by the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ABG) State of Emergency (SoE) Controller. The first flight PX206 will depart Port Moresby on Friday 22nd May at 8am to Buka then continues to Rabaul at 11:35am. PX203 departs Rabaul at 12:40pm for Hoskins then returns to Port Moresby.

An Update On Air Niugini International Flights

Air Niugini is aware a number of people are asking about our international flights. For all domestic and international flights, Air Niugini is required to follow the directives of the State of Emergency (SoE) Controller. Based on these directives, Air Niugini is only approved to fly to Brisbane (five times per week) , Cairns (two times per week)� and Singapore (four times per week). Scheduled flights to other locations are not approved under the present SoE Controller directives.

Q402 Aircraft Now Operates Tokua Flights Due To Runway Upgrade

Air Niugini wishes to advise the traveling public that all Fokker flights into Tokua airport, Rabaul are now being operated by the 76 seat Q402 and 50 seat DHC-8-315 aircraft. This is due to the current runway upgrade by the National Airport Corporation (NAC) which commenced on Monday 24th February, 2020. The runway upgrade was initially planned to take place on March 9th 2020 however following heavy rains, the works commenced earlier than the initial set date.

Cancellation Of Some Rabaul Flights, Sunday 08th September Only

Air Niugini wishes to advise customers that most flights to/from Tokua airport, Rabaul, on Sunday 08th September have been cancelled due to runway maintenance being carried out by the National Airports Corporation (NAC). More Direct Flights For Momase

Air Niugini has increased flights to Vanimo airport and along the Momase coast commencing this week. The direct flights between Port Moresby and Vanimo have increased from two to three weekly flights, operating every Monday, Wednesday and Friday while the Vanimo/Port Moresby direct flights are every Tuesday Thursday, and Saturday. Flights along the north coast of Momase connecting Lae, Madang, Wewak and Vanimo have also increased from two to three weekly services.

Air Niugini wishes to advise its valued customers that the airline has resumed Fokker jet services to Kagamuga airport, Mount Hagen today, Monday 27th November. Jet operations to Mount Hagen were suspended in late September to allow the National Airports Corporation (NAC) to carry out urgent maintenance works on the airport runway. AIR NIUGINI RESUME JET OPERATIONS TO MADANG

Air Niugini has resumed Fokker jet operations to Madang airport, effective this morning, Tuesday October 10 .The decision to resume jet services was made after the National Airports Corporation has repaired a small portion of the airport runway that was damaged by the earthquake on Saturday. Yesterday, Air Niugini downgraded its flights to Madang by using only Dash 8s   before resuming jet operations today. Safety is always of paramount importance in Air Niugini’s operations.

Air Niugini has temporarily downgraded its services to Madang to Dash 8 operations due to damage caused to part of the runway by the earthquake on Saturday October 7. Airport authority, National Airports Corporation(NAC) is currently working on a plan to fix damage caused to the runway. Similarly, all Fokker and Boeing 737 flights to Mount Hagen have been downgraded to Dash8 aircraft due to maintenance works on the runway at Kagamuga airport. The airport runway is shortened to allow NAC to carry out maintenance and repair works on the runway.

A LITTLE BOY’S DREAM OF BECOMING AN AIRCRAFT ENGINEER IS ONLY STARTING

One little boy’s dream of becoming an aircraft engineer has only started. Alex Ontimo, a 15- year old, grade six student at Sevese Morea Primary school at Vabukori village in Port Moresby has always been passionate about airplanes, growing up. AIR NIUGINI CEO ADDRESSES DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL SCHEDULE DISRUPTIONS, CAUSED BY UNSERVICEABLE BOEING 767 AIRCRAFT

The Acting Chief Executive Officer, Gary Seddon stated that unforeseen technical difficulties with two of our Boeing 767 aircraft, have rendered them both temporarily unserviceable in Brisbane.

AIR NIUGINI CEO ANNOUNCES SAFE RETURN OF AIRCRAFT FOLLOWING ENGINE SHUTDOWN

Air Niugini announced the safe return of one of its aircraft following an engine shutdown during a flight this morning, from Port Moresby to Goroka. The prompt and professional response of the airline crew, in accordance with established protocols, ensured the safety and well-being of all passengers and crew on board. This morning, a De Havilland Dash 8-300 aircraft, operating flight PX160 from Port Moresby to Goroka, experienced a technical issue with the Left-Hand engine, having just departed Jacksons Airport, Port Moresby. The flight crew immediately initiated the appropriate actions as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). They performed an engine shutdown and having sufficiently reduced the landing weight by burning fuel in a holding pattern, safely returned the aircraft to Jacksons.

AIR NIUGINI EXECUTIVES MEET WITH PALAU PRESIDENT

Acting Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gary Seddon and his executives met with Palau President, Surangel Whipps Jr in Port Moresby over the weekend to deliberate on the current Air Niugini flights between PNG and Palau. Both parties expressed that there are further opportunities to explore to promote the sector, build interest and steadily grow passenger volumes. They further added that by connecting Pacific Islands to drive trade and tourism, it provides an opportunity for Air Niugini to strengthen its position as a regional airline, supporting the sixth freedom traffic which is the right or privilege of operating scheduled international air services via the home state of the carrier to move traffic between the two states.

Air Niugini Introduces �Fare Lock� Service

Air Niugini is pleased to announce the implementation of the Fare Lock system to help customers who may secure a suitable airfare to fly somewhere but need more time to decide, or are not ready to make payment immediately. Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Alabaster said there are times customers are able to choose suitable fare to travel but are unsure whether to make a reservation and that�s where the Fare Lock service comes in to ensure that a customer�s selected flight does not sell out and that the price does not change while their travel plans are being finalised.

PASSENGERS FROM AUSTRALIA NO LONGER REQUIRE TESTS ON ARRIVAL IN PORT MORESBY

From 1am tomorrow, Thursday 28th April, COVID19 tests on arrival in Port Moresby is no longer required for passengers arriving from Australia. However, tests for passengers arriving from Singapore, Philippines and China (incl Hong Kong) is still required but the testing fee has been reduced to K150 per passenger.

Port Moresby Airport Testing For International Departing Passengers

From 1am �25th April, all pre-departure testing will cease at the airport for all flights .� All passengers should proceed directly to the Departures Check in through the Main Terminal Entrance. If travelling to Singapore, Hong Kong or Manila, or transiting to a country that requires a negative certificate you must bring the certificate to the airport with you. The certificate must be issued by a Doctor and include at least the following information: the date and time of the test;the name of the individual tested, as stated in the passport; at least one other personal identifier such as date of birth or passport number; the type of test conducted; the brand and make of the test; that the specimen for the test as collected, and the test was carried out, by or under the supervision of a Doctor; the result of the test (such as �negative� or �not detected�); the signature of the Doctor providing the certificate, as well as their Authority to Practise Number.

Air Niugini Resumes Fokker Jet Services To Lae

The resumption of Fokker flights has been made possible as National Airports Corporation (NAC) continue to progress with the present runway works, which are now at the stage where the runway is long enough to cater for our Fokker 100 aircraft. Changes To Airport Test Requirements For International Travel From Port Moresby

Passengers flying to Australia: Air Niugini is pleased to advise that effective 1am on 18th April, previous requirements for Covid-19 testing requirements prior to travel will cease. �Passengers will not need to get a test prior to departure to Australia,� and hence can proceed directly to the Departures Check in through the Main Terminal Entrance. Passengers flying into Singapore and Manila: Both Singapore and the Philippines are now open for travel to non-citizens.� You must complete either a negative rapid test (or a negative PCR test) prior to scheduled departure. This is within 48 hours for Singapore, and 24 hours for Manila.�� Rapid tests are conducted either at the airport, or you can bring a compliant certificate with you issued by a doctor.

CHANGES TO TESTING REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO TRAVEL

Air Niugini would like to advise customers of the amended COVID19 test requirements prior to travel to the Philippines and also to United Kingdom(UK) via Singapore. All passengers flying to Manila: Philippines is now open for travel to non-citizens.� Effective from 1st April, for passengers flying into the Philippines as their final destination, a rapid antigen test (RAT) administered and certified by a Doctor is accepted in lieu of a PCR test.� You may either complete a negative RAT test at the airport, or you can bring a negative compliant RAT test certificate with you. The RAT test needs to be completed within 24 hours of departure. All passengers transiting via Singapore to the UK:� Passengers are no longer required to undertake pre-departure testing and can progress directly to the Departures Check in through the Main Terminal Entrance. You will be asked for evidence of your travel to the UK at time of check-in

Aircraft Engineers Successfully Completed Q400 Type Rating Course Via Virtual Training

Twelve Air Niugini Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) have received their certificates last week after successfully completing their B1/B2 Q400 Type rating course for the first time via virtual learning or Distance Learning Training method. The five weeks training by an organisation in Canada was conducted through live streaming with full participation from the LAMEs at ANG training centre at 7mile here in Port Moresby. Air Niugini�s Executive Manager, Training Maika Bovoro said prior to COVID19, the only Civil Aviation Safety Authority(CASA) approved delivery training method was done in a classroom setting with an instructor physically present, adding that the current virtual learning allows for flexibility, no commuting and significant cost savings.

No PNG Pandemic Controller Approval will be required any more for arrivals from 16th February. Air Niugini resumes services to Kieta, and lifting of Covid Testing Requirements for travel to Autonomous Region of Bougainville [AROB]

Air Niugini wishes to advise the travelling public that the airline will resume its Fokker 70 jet services to Kieta�s Aropa airport effective from 25th January 2022. Flights into Kieta had been suspended at the direction of the Regional Pandemic Controller for AROB since October 2021 due to increasing COVID case numbers, however this direction has now been revoked today, Thursday 13th January 2022.

From 1st November fully vaccinated passengers have been able to fly into Sydney and travel to NSW, Victoria and ACT but presently have to home quarantine for three days. You can transit domestically to your home location after landing in Sydney, by car or air,� before entering into the three days of home quarantine .� From 15th December, this will also apply for those travelling to Tasmania.�

New South Wales Opens To Quarantine Free Travel

Air Niugini is pleased to advise customers that New South Wales (NSW) has announced quarantine free travel for international arriving passengers from 1st November 2021.� This will initially be limited to Australian citizens, permanent residents and special visa holders. Since the works on the airport runway commenced in February last year, Air Niugini has been operating to Tokua airport using the 76 seat Q402 and 50 seat DHC-8-315 aircraft, but with passenger numbers restricted to as few as 20 at times because of the shortened runway.

COVID PCR TEST REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL PASSENGERS DEPARTING FROM PORT MORESBY

Air Niugini has partnered with International SOS to deliver PCR testing at Jacksons Airport for all passengers departing on Air Niugini flights.� With International SOS having operated in Papua New Guinea for over 28 years and employing more than 400 Papua New Guinean health workers,� Air Niugini believes they are well placed to support the delivery of this testing program.�PCR testing of all international passengers departing from Port Moresby commenced on the 17th May, following its upgrade from the prior Rapid Antigen testing. Now that we have two weeks of evidence of effective implementation Air Niugini advises this test at time of check-in is considered to meet the requirement to have a COVID test within 72 hours of international travel.

AIR NIUGINI�S FIRST NATIONAL RETIRING PILOT CAPTAIN PAUL KODOR LEAVES BEHIND LEGACY

Papua New Guinean pilot Captain Paul Kodor had retired in February this year after flying with Air Niugini for 34 years, leaving behind a great legacy including training a large number of pilots including many of the PNG nationals who are now flying the airline�s Boeing aircraft. He is Air Niugini�s first national pilot to have retired upon reaching the age of 65, following his final flight, PX004 on the Boeing 767 from Brisbane to Port Moresby on February 2, the day he turned 65 years old. 65 years is the maximum age approved by ICAO for pilots on international flights. His greatest achievement was becoming a Check and Training pilot on the Boeing aircraft following Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) PNG�s approval in 2004. Over the years, Captain Kodor conducted at least seven type rating courses which involved 14 pilots, mostly First Officers (FOs) trained under his wings, many of whom are currently flying Air Niugini�s Boeing aircraft.

CHANGES TO COVID-19 TESTING REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

There are additional changes to the requirements for international travel, effective from Tuesday 20 April.� These changes will affect all passengers departing to Australia , as well as to Singapore , Hong Kong , Manila and any other Air Niugini international destinations. All passengers departing internationally will be required to be tested for Covid-19 �at time of check-in. �This is in addition to the requirement for the negative PCR test conducted within three days of travel.��

Changes To Requirements For Travel To Singapore , Hong Kong And Manila

From Friday 26th March, all passengers travelling from Port Moresby to Singapore, Hong Kong and Manila will be required to provide evidence of a negative COVID Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test at time of check-in. �This is already a requirement for all flights to Australia. Passengers who do not produce evidence of a negative test will not be able to board their flight. The PCR test must be conducted within three days of the scheduled flight departure.

Air Niugini Pilots Inspire 24 Orphan Kids From Remote Bundi

The twenty four children from remote Bundi, Madang have now arrived home and settled in at Mondia bridge Transit House at the foot of Mt Wilhelm, Chimbu after a memorable, inspiring day at Goroka airport yesterday with Air Niugini pilots and cabin crew. The children, mostly orphans between the age of six and 11 had not only fulfil their dream of seeing an Air Niugini aircraft for the first time, they had the opportunity to also board the plane and meet Air Niugini pilots, Captain Nama Mariole and First Officer (FO) Patrick Kiromat. Air Niugini Destinations Loyalty Program Launches Travel Competition

Air Niugini Distributes Personal Hand Sanitizers To All Staff

Air Niugini has gone a step further by purchasing and distributing personal hand sanitisers to over 2000 staff across its network as part of the ongoing measures against the corona virus. A total 5,000 hand sanitisers in personalised 120mls bottles with Air Niugini branding were airlifted from Singapore to Port Moresby on Wednesday. They are now being unpacked at the airline�s commercial stores for distribution to all staff across the network both here and abroad. Air Niugini Further Expands Domestic Services

Air Niugini will further expand domestic flights from next week in response to slowly recovering demand following the April lock down. Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bruce Alabaster said �When we re-introduced domestic services in April we said that we will operate limited services to begin with, and build up to our normal schedule once demand picks up. Air Niugini�s First Papua New Guinean Father And Son Captains

Air Niugini�s most senior Boeing Captain and the longest serving pilot Captain Paun Nonggorr and his son, Captain Jason Nonggorr have made history by becoming the first Papua New Guinean father and son Captains flying for the national flag carrier. Although they are not on the same aircraft type, their achievement as Papua New Guinean father and son Captains is the first for Air Niugini, if not Papua New Guinea. The senior Nonggorr is Captain on the Boeing 767 jet and his son Jason is Captain on the Fokker 100 jet aircraft. From the Koepka Ramdi Tribe of Koepka, Mount Hagen, Western Highlands, Captain Paun Nonggorr was also the youngest national to have attained Captain on Fokker F28 jet aircraft at the age of 26 in 1983. He has been with Air Niugini for 44 years, 35 of these years, since 1985, flying Air Niugini's wide body Boeing 767, Airbus 310 and Airbus 300 aircraft on International routes.

Ban On Air Niugini Inbound International Passengers

Air Niugini will cease carrying passengers on inbound international flights from midnight Saturday March 21, the Minister for State Owned Enterprises, Sasindran Muthuvel, announced today. �There will be exceptions,� he said. �Passengers will be limited to critical emergency personal, diplomatic staff, medical experts, and advisers required by Papua New Guinea to maintain our capacity to fight the coronavirus pandemic,� he said. Essential airline staff will also be allowed to travel so that domestic flights can continue. �It is not practical to stop inbound flights altogether � to do so would jeopardise the fight against the pandemic and put Papua New Guineans in unacceptable danger.

Air Niugini Reducing International Routes

Air Niugini will maintain the current schedule to Cairns, Brisbane, Singapore and all domestic flights while suspending international flights to other destinations as per the national government�s latest instruction on measures to mitigate the risks of the spread of corona virus or COVID 19.These changes take effect from Sunday 22nd March, 2020 and will continue for the next two weeks. Manila flights are suspended until Monday 13th April at the direction of the Philippines Government.

Air Niugini Working Closely With Authorities To Implement Measures Against Corona Virus

Air Niugini is working closely with the National Government and stake holders in the country, as well as those from the three entry points in Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila, to implement measures to mitigate the corona virus risk. As per the Government�s latest directive, Air Niugini will not uplift passengers who have been to Wuhan city or Hubei province during the last three weeks from any of the above three entry ports. However, there are no other restrictions on travel to PNG from any Asian port. Air Niugini does not operate direct flights to or from mainland China.

Requirements For Passengers Travelling From PNG To Solomon Islands To Provide Proof Of Measles Vaccination

In an update issued by Solomon Islands Ministry of Health on January 2, 2020 PNG was added as one of the Measles �affected� countries, along with New Zealand. The original list of affected countries comprised American Samoa, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Australia and the Philippines. The Ministry of Health advise that it is mandatory to fill in a Traveller Health Declaration Card before entering the Solomon Islands. Proof of Vaccination will be in the form of a vaccine Card, vaccination records for proof of immunization for children, and medical certificate from a recognised medical practitioner/hospital.

Air Niugini Rready To Uplift Our Firefighters To Help Australia Battle Bushfires

Air Niugini is on standby to uplift Papua New Guinea firefighters free of charge who may be asked to travel to Australia to assist with the current effort to stop the spread of wildfires. These devastating fires have so far burned over 17 million acres of land, killed at least 25 people, half a billion animals and destroyed millions of dollars� worth of properties. The airline�s response is in support of the PNG Government�s offer to provide firefighters and Defence Force soldiers to combat the spread of fires, and adds to relief efforts being currently coordinated by the Australian Defence Force.

Air Niugini Resumes Fokker Services To Mt Hagen For Peak Period Only

Air Niugini has resumed jet operations using its Fokker 70/100 aircrafts to Mt Hagen only for the peak period.This will cater for the high number of passengers traveling during this time. LinkPNG To Launch First Passenger Services To Komo, Hela

Link PNG, a subsidiary of Air Niugini will launch its first commercial passenger flights to Komo airport in Hela province effective, Tuesday 19th of November 2019. The schedule flights will initially operate twice a week, every Tuesdays and Thursdays, departing Port Moresby at 10: 15am and arriving in Komo at 11:45am. Air Niugini Receives IOSA Certificate

Air Niugini has successfully passed the International Air Transport Association�s (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) once again, which now gives the airline validation for the next two years. From July 8 to 12, Air Niugini was subject to an IOSA Renewal Audit, conducted by Aviation Compliance Solutions (ACS), an audit organisation, accredited by IATA. IOSA seeks to ensure that airlines are compliant with safety requirements and recommended practices determined by IATA. Air Niugini Increases Domestic Services

In line with Air Niugini�s Domestic Service Excellence program, and to provide more seats in preparation for the busy festive/Christmas period, the national airline has increased flight frequencies around the domestic network. Air Niugini now has more flights to Goroka, Lae, Madang, Wewak, Vanimo, Manus, Kavieng, Hoskins and Rabaul. Closure Of Wapenamanda Airport

Air Niugini flights to Wapenamanda Airport in Enga Province will be suspended as of 19th September 2019. The National Airports Corporation is closing the airport to allow runway maintenance work to commence. The duration of work will take up to 12 months hence the last flight to Wapenamanda will be on September 16, 2019. During the period of the closure, all flights will operate out of �Kagamuga Airport in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands Province.

Air Niugini plans to become a key player in global airline servicing in a move that will significantly contribute to the Papua New Guinea economy with the introduction of the Air Niugini Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) facility. Air Niugini's flight, PX 7244/241 to Hoskins airport today, Monday 01st July has been cancelled. In addition, PX208 will not stop at Hoskins but will operate from Port Moresby to Lae and Rabaul. This follows a review of Hoskins operations yesterday(Sunday 30th June) which showed that there is still an unacceptable level of volcanic ash around the runway and taxiway.

Mount Hagen Services Downgraded Effective From Sunday 23rd June 2019

Air Niugini services to Kagamuga airport, Mt Hagen Western Highlands Province will be operated by Link PNG Dash-8 aircraft from Sunday 23rd June until further notice. This is due to maintenance works on the runway by the National Airports Corporation (NAC). Air Niugini is ready to operate Cairns/Hong Kong route via Port Moresby using its wide body Boeing 767 aircraft, commencing in October this year.�Managing Director, Alan Milne made the airline�s capabilities known during a meeting with business leaders in Cairns recently.Air Niugini�s offer to take up the Cairns/Hong Kong route followed an earlier announcement by Cathay Pacific to cease flights on that route by October this year after operating for 25 years. Air Niugini has resumed its jet operations to Tokua airport, Rabaul since Saturday, 08th June 2019 following the completion of urgent maintenance works on the airport runway by the National Airports Corporation (NAC). Since 21st February this year, Air Niugini services to Rabaul were downgraded from Fokker 70/100 aircraft to Dash 8 with some schedule changes to Hoskins, Kavieng, Buka and Rabaul to cater for the unplanned maintenance works.

Rabaul Services Will Be Temporarily Operated By Dash 8 From 22nd February 2019

The National Airports Corporation has advised that the runway maintenance will commence effective on Friday 22nd February with the initial works commencing on the night of 21st February and will continue until the 02nd April, subject to weather conditions. Air Niugini’s Father And Son Pilots Flying Together For The First Time

Two Air Niugini pilots have made history when they operated their� first commercial flight together as father and son last Friday, 01st February 2019.It was a proud moment for First Officer (FO), Christian Yates Round and Captain Mark Yates Round when the father � son duo proudly operated PX 208 on a Fokker 70 aircraft from Port Moresby to Lae, then Hoskins, Rabaul and back to Port Moresby. Following that, they also operated PX 244 that same afternoon from Port Moresby to Hoskins where the aircraft stayed over-night - this particular flight was made even more special, with Mrs Jernin Yates Round joining her husband and son as a passenger on the flight.

Successful Completion Of Inhouse Major Check On Fokker 70

Air Niugini�s Fokker 70 jet aircraft, P2 ANR is now serviceable and back in operation following the successful completion of the in-house C check, or heavy maintenance check, at the airline�s engineering hangar in Port Moresby.P2 ANR is the first ever Fokker 70 aircraft to have had a C check done in house, commencing in July this year. An assessment flight was successfully carried out on Monday 05th November and the aircraft is now back into service.

Repatriation Of Body

Air Niugini has confirmed that, yesterday Sunday 7 October, the repatriation of the body of the deceased passenger from PX 073, Mr Eko Cahyanto Singgih began the trip to his family's home village in Java, Indonesia. On Sunday morning, at Chuuk airport a little before 04.30 local time, government representatives from the highest levels of the Federated States of Micronesia attended a solemn ceremony as the body was boarded onto Flight PX 5071 for the first part of the journey to Port Moresby, arriving at Jacksons International Airport at little over 3 hours later.

Memorial Service

Air Niugini Board, Management and staff together with some members of the diplomatic corps attended a memorial service at Air Niugini Headquarters in Port Moresby this morning (Friday 05th October) to mark the passing of seven days since the tragic accident of flight PX-073 and to express sympathy towards the passenger who lost his life.

Air Niugini Commences Japan/Chuuk Services

Air Niugini has launched its first direct flight between Narita, Japan and Chuuk in the Federated States of Micronesia(FSM) on Saturday 01st September, 2018.Sixty (60) passengers mostly Japanese tourists boarded the first flight out of Narita destined for Chuuk on Saturday night, arriving in Chuuk early Sunday morning.
