Things to see and do

Renowned for its mountainous terrain, the Simbu Province offers plenty opportunity for keen trekkers to explore the region. Mount Wilhelm, standing at 4,509 metres, offers a challenging trek but hikers won’t be disappointed. From the summit, you’ll encounter amazing panoramas with the Madang coastline discernible on a sunny day. The region also offers a number of marked tracks that traverse through dense jungle encountering little villages along the way. Check out guided tours in the Simbu Province and make sure you plan carefully for each trek. Explore the caves found around Kundiawa, which were previously used by locals as a site to bury their dead. Ask around for a local guide who will know which caves are open to tourists and can escort you there. Other attractions worth checking out
